Reminder to all exhibitors, that Biosecurity Rules need to be followed to exhibit at the Gatton Show.

Anyone bringing hay, straw, chaff, silage or potted plants from Queensland Fire Ant Zones to the Gatton Showgrounds must comply with the current Queensland Fire ant movement requirements.

Anyone located inside the fire ant biosecurity zones and dealing with materials that can carry fire ants must follow their general biosecurity obligation by:

- Checking the fire ant biosecurity zones before moving materials off-site.

- Using fire ant-safe practices when handling, storing, and moving materials.

Established in 2008, Queensland Ag Shows Next Generation is the Queensland Chamber of Agricultural Societies youth steering committee. The committee is passionate about agricultural shows, local communities and continuing the legacy of these iconic events. The executive committee comprises of up to 11 members, the committee aims to strengthen the Queensland shows movement by increasing youth participation within local show societies, creating stronger, sustainable events.

Any member of a local Queensland show between 18 and 40-years-old is automatically a Queensland Next Generation member.

In 2014 the Gatton Show Society established its own local Next Gen committee. The committee runs the Young Farmers Challenge in line with the Saturday Night Program. They also run a number of fundraising events leading up to the Gatton Show to assist with costing of the show each year.

Committee members attend their local shows, sub chamber finals and support the Queensland Ag Shows Board by attending general meetings and assisting with state finals at the Ekka.

Our Next Generation Committee, also run the Young Farmers Challenge in line with the Saturday Night Program. The committee also does a number of Fund Raising Events leading up to the Gatton Show to assist with costing of the show each year.
