Anyone located inside the fire ant biosecurity zones and dealing with materials that can carry fire ants must follow their general biosecurity obligation by:

Allysha Hannant 2021 Gatton Showgirl and 2022 West Moreton and Brisbane Valley Showgirl Runner Up

“I was fortunate enough to have been selected as the 2021 Gatton Show Girl and was lucky enough to remain Gatton Show Girl for two years. I am now set to hand over the title in July 2023 to the next wonderful young lady.

In my time as Showgirl, I have enjoyed working with, joining the show committee, and seeing the success of the show constantly grow, especially as we navigated our way out of some difficult times that we were still facing with COVID.

I have thoroughly enjoyed interacting with the community, both at the show and representing the show society at local events. As a born & bred Lockyer Valley Local, I love that the position of showgirl has allowed me to showcase what our community has to offer a wider audience and be an ambassador for our local area.

My time as show girl has allowed me to develop my professional skills and confidence, and it also allowed me to inspire & mentor other young people.”
